Ramos admits no contract update at Real Madrid: 5 more years

Sergio Ramos - at 34 - believes he still has five years at the top of the game.

The Real Madrid captain's future has been much discussed of late, with his contract set to expire on June 30, but he is just focused on how things are going on the pitch.

"I am finally back with the team. Now comes the most important [stage of the season] and I would like to help with great performances," Ramos said.

"Hopefully we can win a big trophy and dedicate it to the fans."

When quizzed on his future, the Real Madrid centre-back revealed that there is nothing to report.

"I wish I could say something, but everything remains the same," Ramos explained.

"All I'm thinking about is coming back and finishing the season in the best possible way. There's no news of my renewal, I wish I could [say something].

"I'm calm and I'm only thinking about playing again and winning a trophy."

One thing that oozes from Ramos is confidence, as shown by the fact that he thinks he can continue playing at this level for another five years.

"You can't please everyone, but there's one thing you can't erase: everything you've won," he said.

"The only thing that worries me is that they know that I'm a real guy, that I left my soul for the Madrid badge.

"I've always stood up for myself and I've always told the truth. I'm honest, humble and hard working. It is on the basis of performance that the player should be judged.

"I can play five more years at the highest level. If injuries are not too bad, my mentality will help me."
