McGregor lost the trilogy series at the T-Mobile Arena after breaking his leg in horrific fashion at the very end of the first round, with referee Herb Dean immediately calling off the bout.
In agony, 'The Notorious' was sat on the canvas and against the cage after suffering a gruesome injury that he has since had surgery on.
But with his adrenaline still strong, McGregor gave a memorable post-match interview with Rogan, where he claimed to have been "boxing the bleeding head off" Poirier and "kicking the bleeding leg off" his opponent.
Rogan received a whole lot of criticism for sitting down and getting McGregor's thoughts, with his coach John Kavanagh "pretty miffed" and blasting the podcaster.
But according to Rogan, the interview was actually McGregor's idea and he wanted to vent on the microphone.
The 34-year-old was a fan of the way in which McGregor was able to immediately promote a fourth fight with Poirier despite being in pain.
