Cristiano Ronaldo's future at Manchester United could be thrown further into doubt as he is set to receive a pay cut at Old Trafford.
That will take affect if United fail to qualify for the Champions League this season which is looking increasingly likely given the problematic season the Red Devils are enduring.
If Manchester United don't make the top four this season then Ronaldo's salary will drop by a reported 25 percent, a figure which could then see the forward seek a move from Old Trafford.
He re-joined the club from Juventus in the summer having left Old Trafford in 2009 for Real Madrid for a then-world record fee of 80 million pounds.
Recent events at the club has seen Ronaldo grow increasingly frustrated and he could want to leave again if things don't improve.
United are 21 points behind leaders Manchester City in the Premier League despite spending over 100 million pounds in the summer.
