Official: Christian Eriksen seals Premier League return

In one of the feel-good stories of the Premier League season, Christian Eriksen's return to the top-flight of English football has, on Monday evening, been confirmed.

The outfit set to benefit from the talents of the Dane over the 2nd half of the campaign? Brentford.

In a series of posts across the club's social media platforms, the Bees have unveiled attacking midfielder Eriksen as the latest addition to Thomas Frank's squad:

This comes after an agreement for the 29-year-old to take his talents to west London was struck between the two parties on transfer deadline day last week.

Eriksen himself, meanwhile, has too been keen to celebrate his Brentford switch, taking to his official Twitter account to unveil a new profile picture:

Eriksen's Premier League comeback, though, of course marks a special one for so much more than simply his predicted impact on Brentford's midfield.

This comes with the former Tottenham Hotspur standout, just last summer, having set pulses racing across the globe owing to a frightening collapse at the European Championships.

During Denmark's group stage showdown with Finland, Eriksen, out of the blue, went to ground on the sideline owing to a cardiac arrest, with only a miraculous effort on the part of teammate Simon Kjaer and the medical team in attendance at the clash having ultimately prevented the worst.

Despite enjoying a full recovery, the 29-year-old subsequently saw his contract with Inter Milan terminated a short time later, after the Nerazzurri's hands were left tied by Serie A's rules surrounding players being fitted with cardioverter-defibrillators.

Just six months on, though, after spending time recovering match fitness in his home country, Eriksen is back in the Premier League, with both he, and the English game as a whole, all the better for it.
