Ronaldo left baffled by Kylian Mbappe's absurd Real Madrid wage agreement

Real Madrid legend Ronaldo has been left baffled by the reported value of the wages included in Kylian Mbappe's agreement to join the club.

The French striker is understood to have agreed terms on a deal to join the Spanish giants with the deal said to include wages worth £800,000-per-week.

With Mbappe out of contract at Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, he is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs and is now set to join Los Blancos ahead of next season.

However, two-time World Cup winner Ronaldo has been left shocked by the size of the wages he is set to earn.

Ronaldo told Bobo TV, via The Sun: "He is very strong, he has that speed and coldness in front of goal that will lead him to be number one.

"And I have read the news that he will go to Real Madrid and earn €50m a year.

"We have made the wrong generation [laughs]. The football industry is growing so much that it's only fair that the stars receive more and more money.

"If it's like that today, it's because there were players who inspired them, like we did."

Ronaldo spent five years with Real Madrid between 2002 and 2007, scoring over 100 goals for the club and winning two La Liga titles during this period.

He also won the Ballon d'Or twice during his career, which also included spells with Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and both Milan clubs.

O Fenomeno was one of a number of players brought to the Santiago Bernabeu during the club's 'Galacticos' era, with the potential arrival of Mbappe perhaps signalling a re-emergence of this transfer strategy.

Ronaldo also discussed several other elite strikers as well as Mbappe, adding: "Benzema in my opinion, but Lewandowski is very close.

"Haaland will become very strong, maybe even number one, but he doesn't have the technique of the top two."
