Arsenal's Kieran Tierney 'offered to meet Watford player outside' as tensions boiled

Kieran Tierney seemingly offered to meet Watford defender Cucho Hernandez 'outside' as the pair were involved in a coming together in the closing stages of Arsenal's 3-2 victory at Vicarage Road.

Mikel Arteta's men just about held on to secure all three points against the Hornets to boost their top-four aspirations, but they were made to sweat for it late on.

The Gunners must've thought they had it all wrapped up after establishing a two-goal lead through Gabriel Martinelli, only for Moussa Sissoko to reduce the deficit with three minutes remaining.

Tempers flared late on as Watford accused the visitors of time-wasting - with one particular incident involving Tierney and Hornets goalscorer Hernandez grabbing the attention.

Hernandez, who scored an incredible equaliser in the first half to cancel out Odegaard's opener, wanted to speed the game up and flung the ball into Tierney's stomach as he went to take a throw-in.

The Scotland international over-exaggerated the contact and hit the deck like a sack of spuds, which led to a brief coming together between the two sets of players.

Tierney then got back to his feet and appeared to signal with his head that he would meet Hernandez outside after the game to sort out their disagreement.

The Colombia star waled away from Tierney and received a booking from referee Craig Pawson before play restarted in the closing stages.

Plenty of people noticed the coming together and took to Twitter to comment upon it.

One person said: "Tierney’s s***housery at the end >>> Brother dives then dares Hernandez to come at him after Hernandez was given a yellow."

Someone else added: "Tierney telling Cucho Hernandez to bring it."

A third user commented: "Tierney offering out Hernandez."

Arsenal's victory moved them above Manchester United and into fourth in the Premier League table.

The Gunners also have three games in hand on Ralf Rangnick's side, who they face at the Emirates towards the end of April.
